Return processing is currently taking 3-4 weeks from date of receipt at our warehouse. Thank you for your patience as we work through our backlog.

Website Returns

New products purchased from OutdoorResearch.com need to have original tags attached or included to submit a return for refund within 60 days of the purchase date. Scroll down below to start this process.

For gear that has been used and has a defect in materials, workmanship, or product failures, please see our Infinite Guarantee.

Step one: Sign in to your Outdoor Research account

Step two: Find the Cust. P.O. # referenced on your packing slip in your order history and click on VIEW ORDER

Step three: Click on RETURN (at top of page), fill out the Return Items Information and click SUBMIT

I love my OR gear but want to make an exchange - What do I do?

Any desire to exchange a product purchased direct from OutdoorResearch.com should be treated as a return followed by a new purchase. Please note that any order placed with online credit or warranty credit, wanting to make a new purchase, will need to wait for their return to be sent back to us and processed, to utilize that same credit on a new purchase. We do not have the ability to alter forms of payment utilized on past or present orders. We also do not have the ability to reserve stock. If inventory is low on an item you wish to purchase, we recommend you make the purchase to ensure that product is available and shipped to you in a timely manner.

Third Party Store Returns

Please partner with the third party retailer where your purchase was made to receive the maximum refund possible. Outdoor Research cannot issue a refund for purchases not made directly through the Outdoor Research website.

Please note that purchases made through ExpertVoice, Outdoor Prolink or College Outside are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

Please Note:

  • We recommend an insured tracking method as we are not responsible for packages until they are received in our warehouse. Please rely on your courier-provided tracking number to confirm if your product has been received in our warehouse. We will alert you by email when your return is processed.
  • Sorry, we do not accept returns on masks, neck gaiters, face coverings, or items marked as final sale. 
  • Returns refunds that are unable to be processed back to the original payment method due to a declined, cancelled or unavailable payment type will be issued an online credit that does not expire and can only be utilized at OutdoorResearch.com. If you checked out as a guest and your return was issued to online credit, note that an account will be created for you under your original purchasing e-mail. You can request a password reset here to access your account and credit.
  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Our $6.95 return label option provided during the return process is only available through FedEx ground and does not support USPS or Canada Post return labels.
